Parents Weekend at UM – Time for Fun!

Weekend Fun and Games!

Parents Weekend 2019 begins at approximately 3:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, and runs through Sunday, October 6, 2019. As a Hurricane Alum as well as a UM Parent, anytime the opportunity presents itself to be able to share in some Hurricane football with my daughter, I am there. Each year family weekend occurs within the first 1-2 months of school which involves some great programming for students and their families as well as a home football game that families are encouraged to attend. Be sure to check our blog on hotels to help find the best accommodations for your family.

Registration

Registration for Fall Family Weekend typically opens in the summer. For more details and bookmark the page for the most up to date information.

What to do at the Weekend

There will be an entire schedule of events for the family weekend which in the past has included live entertainment, receptions, family competitions, open houses, a BBQ, and of course the football game. While in Miami, be sure to check out some of our recommended places to visit.

Where to Eat

Chances are your student is going to want a “real” meal. While there are many great dining options on campus, the kids love to go out for a great meal with their families. Don’t be surprised if they wish to bring along some newly minted friends and show their parents the real Miami. Check out our restaurant blog to find good places to eat.

What to Wear

It gets awfully hot in South Florida even in October (although we always hope for temperatures to cool down). Check out our recommended Gameday attire and clear bags.
