Fun Family Time
Family or Parent’s Weekend is a fabulous weekend when you get to visit your son or daughter at UNF. They will want to show you all their new favorite places around campus and town and introduce you to their new friends. UNF Parent’s Weekend 2020 date, usually in October, has been postponed to the spring of 2021 this year.
Having two sons at another state college, one of the first questions I asked when my daughter moved into UNF was “when is Parent’s Weekend?” I knew from experience Parent’s Weekend can be very crowded and chaotic and wanted to book my hotel and if possible, make dinner reservations.
Surprisingly enough, everything about UNF Parent’s Weekend was simple and easy. I had no problem making a hotel reservation, the prices were not increased for the weekend, local restaurants were not overly crowded (I did not need a reservation at any restaurant) and the school had a manageable number of parents on campus. We’ve got a list of hotels here.
UNF has a ton of activities to sign up for including outdoor movies, different sporting events, ECO adventure day and so much more. If organized activities aren’t your thing, Jacksonville has many places to spend your day, including the beach, shopping or even taking a short 20-minute drive to St. Augustine. Where to Eat
There are a ton, and I mean a ton, of places to eat near campus. Every possible chain restaurant that you can think of is within three miles of campus. Check out our blog on Restaurants to find your favorite. We also have a blog on local brunch places.
And, don’t forget to pack your Osprey gear. From sweatpants, sweatshirts, hats, shorts to tees, anything you could want with the UNF logo can be found.
