That Was Then…
Halloween, love it or hate it. However, on a college campus, Halloween is sure to be full of ghouls around every corner! One thing’s for sure, your student at Maryland is in for a night of fun and frights on Halloween!
This is Now.
Halloween on campus is a definite change from the days of old, but you’ll find some old traditions surfacing as well as modern college fun! The campus will be decorated, with dorm rooms and dining halls in festive decor. For University students with children, there is a free family fun party. Here you can paint pumpkins, play carnival games, get your face painted, and even make your own sundaes! Be sure to wear your costumes!
HaveUHeard that the campus of the University of Maryland has a haunted past? If you dare, take the campus ghost tour. Decide for yourself if the whispers you hear in McKeldin library are real, or if the piano playing in Marie Mount Hall is a figment of your imagination. If you aren’t brave enough to walk it on your own, you can read the highlights of the spooky campus from the safety of your own room!
For some more exciting fun, head to Route One. Here is where most of the action takes place. Most students will dress up and the center of the party is here at the various bars. Fraternities and Sororities will also host parties. Be sure to check specifics as the holiday gets closer. Stamp Student Union often offers fun activities as well, but those are always different year to year. You’ll have to watch for the signs they post as it gets close to the holiday.
Halloween can be a lot of fun at Maryland, but it may be a good time to remind them to keep their wits about them, stay together with a group, and get their work done ahead of time. This way they are sure to have fun and pass!
