Finding your inner yoga peace.
Ahhhhh, one of my favorite things to do, and by far the best way to get my head cleared is to practice yoga. Very few things have been practiced for over 5000 years with continued success. The practice proves that the mind, body, and spirit are healthier. Whether you are looking to get a workout or to stretch and breathe, practicing this age-old art is an excellent way to move your body. I have been doing it forever now, but my daughter has only practiced a few times and we have found a tremendous amount of yoga and meditation classes in our hometown and at UGA respectively.
HaveUHeard that UGA offers a bunch of classes at the Ramsey Student Center? They offer the curriculums YogaFit and ButiYoga with different levels and focus classes being taught at all times. To take classes at Ramsey, one must purchase a Group Fitness Pass or Class Pass, which vary in price.
There are some off-campus studios and gyms that are located in Athens and are great if your student desires to join a gym.
- 5 Points Yoga: They offer different packages that range from $12 for one class or $115 for a 10 class pass.
- Crunch: This is a normal gym in Athens that offers a yoga class every day, it is a great way to do yoga while also paying to be able to work out in other ways.
- Fuel Hot Yoga: This is a great way to dip your feet into yoga because they offer different membership levels, you can get anything from a $50 visitor membership for a week of unlimited classes or $59 a month for 6 classes whenever.
- Melynda Mac So Be Well: This studio is a little different than others because they offer one on one yoga sessions with an instructor who individualizes the yoga to you specifically. It is different from typical yoga because it places an emphasis on therapy for spirit, mind, and body.
Make sure you check Groupon as you may find special pricing on other studios or even the recommended ones. Namaste’…
